Smart Metering: It’s happening in Europe

Some European countries are embracing smart metering.   A few are implementing meter data management as a stepping stone towards full smart metering implementation.  Are you ahead of your competitors?

The UK Government White Paper “Meeting the Energy Challenge”, requires energy suppliers to extend advanced smart metering services to all business users by May 2012, except for the smallest or those with half hourly meters. Are you ready?

The Government also aims to accelerate the change in consumer behaviour and attitudes. Real-time displays may be made available free of charge to any household that requests one, between 2008 and 2010. Government target of rolling out Smart Meters to 25 million UK homes by 2017 is likely to be brought forward through consumer led demand. Will you be ready?
